Who we are
Celebrate Their Way Mitzvahs began with one simple experience: planning my own son’s bar mitzvah.
Like many parents of neurodiverse kids, I wanted his day to feel joyful and meaningful—but I quickly realized that most mitzvah celebrations follow a very traditional formula. Loud music, packed dance floors, busy schedules, and lots of stimulation can make what should be a special milestone feel overwhelming for some kids.
While planning his mitzvah, I started asking a different question: What would this day look like if it were truly designed around him?
That shift changed everything. We focused on what made him comfortable, what excited him, and how he wanted to celebrate becoming a bar mitzvah. The result was a day that felt authentic, joyful, and deeply meaningful—not just for him, but for our whole family.
That experience sparked the idea for Celebrate Their Way Mitzvahs.
This business exists to help families create bar and bat mitzvah celebrations that reflect who their child truly is. For neurodiverse kids, that might mean sensory-friendly environments, flexible timelines, smaller gatherings, or creative ways to honor the milestone that go beyond the typical party format.
The goal is simple:
Every child deserves to feel proud, comfortable, and celebrated on the day they become a bar or bat mitzvah.
Because the most meaningful celebrations aren’t about following a formula.
They’re about celebrating their way.
